Manager - Mines

Role Objective:

To effectively manage and control two semi-mechanized opencast mines, ensuring safe, compliant, and profitable operations while achieving production targets and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

Mine Planning & Operations -

• Prepare and implement mine plans, designs, production schedules, and excavation sequences based on approved plans and sections.
• Execute mining operations to achieve targeted production, quality, cost, and profitability objectives.
• Ensure optimum utilization of manpower, machinery, and other resources.

Statutory Compliance -

• Ensure compliance with all applicable provisions of the Mines Act, Metalliferous Mines Regulations (MMR), DGMS guidelines, environmental regulations, and other statutory requirements.
• Obtain, maintain, and renew all necessary permits, licenses, approvals, clearances, and statutory returns.

Safety & Administration -

• Ensure safe mining operations and promote a strong safety culture across the mine.
• Maintain compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
• Oversee overall mine administration, workforce discipline, and contractor management.

Stakeholder Management -

• Liaise effectively with Government Departments, DGMS officials, Pollution Control Boards, local authorities, labor unions, and community representatives.
• Maintain positive relationships with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.

Performance Monitoring & Reporting -

• Monitor daily, monthly, and annual production and operational KPIs.
• Conduct regular reviews, identify operational gaps, and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and present operational reports, production data, and performance reviews to senior management.

Team Leadership -

• Lead and develop mine supervisory staff and workmen.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination across departments and site teams.

Qualification:

• B.E./B.Tech in Mining Engineering.
• Valid First-Class Mines Manager Certificate.

Candidate Preference:

• 8–10 years of post-certification experience as a Mines Manager.
• Experience in managing and operating semi-mechanized opencast mines.
• Should be open to relocation.
