Job Summary
We are seeking a Learning Experience Designer (eLearning Developer/Instructional Designer) to design and deliver modern, digital-first learning experiences. This contractor role blends deep eLearning development expertise with strategic learning partnership responsibilities, driving end-to-end learning solutions from discovery through measurement. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and developing multimedia learning content, including digital courses, blended learning, instructional videos, and microlearning solutions. These solutions will incorporate Learning Models and Adult Learning Theories in conjunction with development methodologies and AI-enabled tools to create scalable, high-impact learning experiences aligned to business outcomes. The Learning Experience Designer (eLearning Developer/Instructional Designer) will be responsible for creating innovative learning solutions that meet the needs of our diverse, evolving workforce and will play a key role in fostering a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with stakeholders and SMEs to conduct discovery and needs analysis and translate business challenges into learning solutions
- Execute full lifecycle delivery: analysis, design, development, deployment, and evaluation
- Design and develop advanced interactive digital learning including simulations, microlearning, and scenario-based experiences
- Leverage AI-enabled tools (e.g., generative AI, avatars, automated media) to accelerate development and enhance engagement
- Design intuitive, accessible (WCAG-aligned) learning experiences using strong UX/UI principles
- Create storyboards, scripts, multimedia, and simulations aligned to enterprise standards
- Manage timelines using agile/rapid development approaches
- Define success metrics, track performance, and continuously improve learning outcomes
Required Skills
- Advanced proficiency in digital learning and modern content development tools
- Strong instructional design capability, including adult learning principles and performance consulting
- Proficiency in UX/UI design and creating seamless learner experiences
- Experience using AI and rapid development approaches to improve speed and quality
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- A passion for continuous learning and applying new trends and technologies in instructional design; self-motivated with the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines
- Demonstrates strong project management and organizational skills, effectively managing complex workstreams with multiple dependencies, stakeholders, and parallel deliverables
- Executes administrative and operational tasks across the learning lifecycle, including content approvals, audience assignment, quality control, version management, and governance adherence
- Learning Platforms: Workday Learning or equivalent LMS
- Digital Authoring Tools: Articulate 360 (Storyline, Rise)
- AI Enabled Tools: Synthesia, Vyond, generative AI tools
- Video & Audio editing software
- Collaboration: SharePoint, Microsoft 365 Suite
Preferred Skills
- Ability to design learning solutions with a modular, reusable architecture, enabling content to be rapidly repurposed across programs, platforms, and audiences to increase speed, consistency, and scalability
- Advanced experience with Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects)
- Experience in designing connected learning curricula that align to end-to-end capability development, linking courses, experiences, and resources into cohesive learner journeys
- Experience supporting corporate functions and/or regulated industries, applying learning solutions that align with complex compliance, operational, and risk management standards
