Role Description The MRD Incharge will oversee the Medical Records Department to ensure accurate, complete, and secure maintenance of patient records in compliance with regulatory and hospital standards. This full-time, on-site role based in the Pune Division involves supervising medical records staff, managing record creation, coding, indexing, storage, retrieval, and archiving processes. The role includes monitoring documentation quality, coordinating with clinical and administrative teams to resolve record-related issues, and supporting audits and accreditation requirements. The MRD Incharge will be responsible for implementing and updating policies for record management, confidentiality, and data protection, as well as generating reports and statistics for management and regulatory bodies. The position also involves training team members on MRD procedures, supporting digitalization initiatives, and ensuring timely responses to internal and external requests for medical records.

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong customer service and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, clinicians, and administrative staff.
• Candidates should possess budgeting and basic administrative management skills to plan departmental resources and control MRD-related expenses.
• Candidates should possess foundational knowledge of medicine, medical terminology, and clinical documentation standards to ensure accurate and compliant record keeping.
• Candidates should possess training and team leadership skills to guide, mentor, and upskill MRD staff on processes, systems, and compliance requirements.
• Diploma or degree in Medical Records, Health Information Management, Hospital Administration, or a related field.
• Relevant experience in a hospital Medical Records Department, preferably in a NABH-accredited or similar quality-focused setting.
• Familiarity with hospital information systems (HIS), electronic medical records (EMR), and data privacy regulations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under time-sensitive conditions.
