Full Performance Systems Engineer – Cloud Focus

Position Summary

Global C2 Integration Technologies (GC2IT) is seeking a Full Performance Systems Engineer with a Cloud focus to support mission-critical national security systems. This role applies a lifecycle-driven systems engineering approach to design, integrate, secure, and sustain cloud-enabled platforms supporting complex operational environments.

The Systems Engineer will design, deploy, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure and cloud services that support centralized management systems and mission applications. The position emphasizes automation, infrastructure-as-code, security controls, observability, and high-availability architecture to ensure reliable and repeatable deployments across environments.

Responsibilities

• Translate operational requirements and mission objectives into traceable technical requirements and cloud architecture designs.
• Design, deploy, and maintain AWS cloud infrastructure and services supporting mission applications.
• Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions (e.g., Terraform) to automate provisioning and configuration of cloud resources.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines supporting automated build, test, and deployment processes.
• Implement and enforce cloud security controls, including identity and access management, encryption, logging, and network segmentation.
• Integrate monitoring and logging capabilities to support system observability, performance monitoring, and incident response.
• Participate in architecture reviews, design reviews, and technical assessments to validate system performance, reliability, and compliance.
• Develop verification strategies, test procedures, and validation activities to ensure systems meet operational requirements.
• Support integration of applications and services within secure cloud environments.
• Maintain architecture documentation, system diagrams, and configuration baselines.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and commercial solutions to support modernization and capability improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or related technical discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
• 7+ years of experience in systems engineering, cloud engineering, or system integration roles supporting complex technical environments.
• Experience designing and operating AWS cloud infrastructure.
• Experience implementing infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform.
• Knowledge of systems engineering lifecycle processes, including requirements development, system design, and verification/validation.
• Experience integrating software, infrastructure, and network components within distributed systems.
• Active Top Secret / SCI clearance required

Desired Qualifications:

• AWS certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect or AWS DevOps Engineer.
• Experience implementing DevSecOps pipelines and automated deployment workflows.
• Experience with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiarity with cloud security frameworks and compliance controls.
• Experience supporting globally distributed or OCONUS deployments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams.
