Transportation Manager

Job Summary

The Transportation Manager is responsible for managing and supervising transportation operations across India, ensuring timely, safe, and cost-effective movement of goods. The role includes route planning, fleet management, staff supervision, vendor coordination, and maintaining service quality.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day transportation operations across Pan India routes.
• Strong knowledge of all India routes, transit times, and major transport hubs.
• Ensure timely pickup, dispatch, and delivery of shipments.
• Plan cost-effective routes for smooth transportation movement.
• Coordinate with drivers, transporters, vendors, and branch teams.
• Manage fleet utilization, maintenance, servicing, and breakdown support.
• Supervise transportation staff, drivers, and operational manpower.
• Handle staff attendance, discipline, duty allocation, and productivity.
• Monitor vehicle movement and ensure on-time delivery performance.
• Control transportation costs including fuel, toll, repairs, and vendor payments.
• Ensure compliance with transport laws, permits, insurance, and safety norms.
• Resolve shipment delays, escalations, and operational issues.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly MIS reports.
• Implement process improvements for better efficiency.

Requirements

• Graduate preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in transportation/logistics management.
• Good knowledge of Pan India transportation network and routes.
• Strong staff management and leadership skills.
• Experience in fleet handling and vendor management.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of MS Excel / ERP systems preferred.
