Location: Montreal, Quebec

JOB OVERVIEW
The Aero Technician supports FTAI Aviation’s engine maintenance and repair operations, working hands‑on with commercial jet engines, primarily CFM56. In this role, technicians participate in engine and module assembly, disassembly, and certification while collaborating with experienced team members in a structured MRO environment.
This position offers a strong opportunity to develop technical skills, gain practical engine experience, and grow within a safety‑ and quality‑focused aviation organization.
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with team members to assemble and disassemble aircraft engines and modules, while contributing ideas for continuous improvement.
- Perform engine and module assembly and disassembly activities, primarily on CFM56 engines.
- Participate in turbine engine inspection and certification tasks in accordance with approved procedures.
- Conduct rotor and module balancing operations (single‑plane or dynamic), as qualified and trained.
- Transport parts, components, modules, or engines between workstations or work areas, as required.
- Perform cleaning and blasting of parts, once trained and deemed competent for these activities.
Qualifications
- Diploma in Aircraft Maintenance or Aircraft Mechanics.
- Ability to meet all applicable company and regulatory work requirements.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow technical instructions and documentation in English.
Desired skills, qualifications and experience:
- Prior experience with CFM56 engine build or teardown is an asset.
- Exposure to electrical harness repair, blueprint reading, and technical manuals is considered a bonus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and willingness to learn are highly valued.

Language Requirements in Quebec:
Intermediate level knowledge of English is necessary for aeronautical personnel to meet regulatory requirements, understand technical procedures and instructions, and document entries regarding work performed on the aeronautical product for customers outside Quebec.
This position is a contract role supporting FTAI Aviation operations. Successful candidates will be engaged through one of FTAI Aviation’s approved staffing partners initially on a contract basis, with a strong possibility of transitioning to a permanent position with FTAI Aviation after the contract period.
