Job Description

We are a UK digital agency working with a number of websites built on WordPress using Elementor and WooCommerce.

We are looking for a reliable WordPress developer with strong Elementor experience, WooCommerce knowledge, and good core PHP skills to help with ongoing website work on an hourly basis.

This is not a single project. We are looking for someone we can work with long term as tasks arise. Work will include a mixture of WordPress tasks and occasional work on bespoke PHP systems.

Typical work includes building pages using Elementor, creating landing pages, making layout adjustments and general page amends, fixing mobile responsiveness issues, adding sections to existing pages, making minor CSS tweaks, configuring plugins when appropriate, troubleshooting WordPress issues, improving site speed, and making updates to WooCommerce products, layouts, or checkout behaviour.

We do not work with pre-built WordPress themes.

Our websites are built using Elementor from scratch, so we are looking for someone comfortable building clean page structures rather than working inside heavily themed environments.

We also operate a low plugin usage policy.

We try to avoid installing plugins for simple functionality where a small amount of CSS, PHP or configuration can achieve the same result.

This helps keep our sites faster, cleaner and easier to maintain.

We prefer developers who enjoy building clean solutions rather than relying heavily on plugins.

Occasionally there may also be work on bespoke systems written in core PHP (not frameworks). This could include updating existing PHP scripts, debugging small issues, making minor feature additions, or working with MySQL queries.

Requirements include strong WordPress experience, excellent Elementor experience, good knowledge of WooCommerce, good understanding of core PHP, HTML and CSS, and the ability to work from written task instructions and screenshots.

Good written English communication is important as most tasks will be assigned through written instructions.

Experience working with digital agencies, improving website performance, working with MySQL databases, and understanding SEO-friendly page structure would be beneficial but are not essential.

Tasks are managed through ClickUp and assigned as they arise. Most tasks will come with clear written instructions and screenshots. Tasks may range from small fixes to larger page builds or development work.

We are looking for someone reliable who we can build a long-term working relationship with.

To confirm you have read this description, please start your proposal with the word Elementor.

Please also include examples of Elementor websites you have built, your hourly rate, your availability, and a brief summary of your experience working with core PHP and WooCommerce.

A small paid test task may be used before starting long-term work.

Contract duration of more than 6 months. with 40 hours per week.

Mandatory skills:

WordPress, PHP, HTML, CSS, Elementor, MySQL, HTML5, Web Design, Web Development
