DevOps Engineer

About the Role

As a DevOps Engineer, you'll be at the forefront of building and securing our cloud-based healthcare platform, operating in a highly regulated Personal Health Information (PHI) environment.

Your work will be instrumental in enabling the platform to meet production-readiness standards, supporting both technical innovation and rigorous compliance.

You will collaborate closely with software engineers, security experts, and product teams to create resilient, scalable, and secure infrastructure.

This role demands strong technical acumen, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a deep commitment to upholding global or regional privacy laws, including HIPA, PHIPA and GDPR.

You'll have the opportunity to lead initiatives that directly impact patient data security and privacy—helping shape the future of healthcare technology.

Mission

Join our team to ensure our platform meets production-readiness in a regulated Personal Health Information (PHI) environment.

You will play a critical role in upholding compliance with privacy laws, while delivering robust DevOps and security engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement infrastructure-as-code solutions, ensuring clear separation of development, staging, and production environments.
  • Execute hardening strategies such as IAM least privilege, private networking, Web Application Firewall (WAF) deployment, and secrets management.
  • Manage encryption protocols, including AWS KMS, TLS, and key rotation, while maintaining immutable audit logs for traceability. Implement tenant isolation controls.
  • Set up and monitor CloudWatch alerts, create incident response runbooks, and conduct disaster recovery testing (including RTO/RPO objectives) and backup and restore operations.
  • Support security and PHIPA compliance reviews, coordinate penetration testing activities, and collect evidence for compliance audits. Ensure all infrastructure changes comply with PHIPA requirements.

Must-Have Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on AWS security and DevOps experience in a professional setting.
  • Proven expertise in IAM, cloud networking, KMS, logging, and implementing SOC2/ISO-style controls.
  • Strong mindset for security, compliance, and operational excellence.

Nice-to-Have Qualifications

  • Experience working with privacy regulations and direct healthcare security environments.
  • Background in regulated PHI platform operations.
