Job Description

We're an e-commerce team running a production platform on AWS.

The system is stable overall, but our delivery process and infrastructure need a focused review to improve reliability, security posture, and cost efficiency.

We're looking for a AWS DevOps Engineer specialist to do a quick audit, implement a few high-impact improvements, and help our team standardize CI/CD and deployment automation.

What we need

  • High-level DevOps audit of our current setup: infrastructure, pipelines, and deployment flow
  • Cost optimization review and practical recommendations for follow-up
  • Migrate key pipelines from TeamCity to GitHub Actions and create reusable templates so developers can deploy new AWS Lambda functions + Python) with minimal effort
  • Set up / align Octopus Deploy projects so releases can run from GitHub Actions via Octopus into AWS
  • Add lightweight quality and security steps to the pipelines (static analysis such as SonarCloud, plus a security scanning tool like Orca or equivalent)
  • Review and stabilize existing pipelines for Amazon ECS deployments
  • Review our Ansible playbooks used for provisioning and software deployments on Amazon EC2 (CMS servers)
  • Quick review of Kubernetes (EKS) Helm charts for basic deployment consistency

Terraform review:

structure, modules approach, and safer workflows for AWS resources (EC2, S3, IAM, etc.)

  • Review our Docker image build process and provide practical guidance to improve security hardening and reduce the final image size (multi-stage builds, minimal base images).

Deliverables

  • Short audit summary with priorities (reliability, security, cost)
  • Migrated GitHub Actions workflows + reusable templates
  • Small improvements to stabilize deployments (ECS/EKS) and reduce delivery risk
  • Roadmap of next steps

Please include

  • Examples of improving production DevOps setups (AWS + CI/CD)
  • Your experience with GitHub Actions, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes / ECS, Ansible, and Linux System Administration

Contract duration of less than 1 month. with 30 hours per week.

Mandatory skills:

Amazon Web Services, DevOps, CI/CD, Amazon EC2, Amazon ECS, Amazon S3, Docker, Git, Kubernetes, Linux, Linux System Administration, Octopus Deploy, cost optimization, github actions, team city, Ansible, Deployment Automation, Python, Terraform
