Safety Compliance Officer

Overview

Frederick Water is seeking a qualified professional to serve as a Safety Compliance Officer. This position is responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring comprehensive safety and compliance programs to ensure the protection of employees, facilities, and the public, and to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and manage safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct safety inspections, audits, risk assessments, and sampling events to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Enforce safety regulations and organizational safety procedures.
• Provide safety training and education to employees.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and unsafe conditions; recommend and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records of safety incidents, inspections, and compliance activities.
• Review and update safety policies and prepare reports for management.
• Coordinate emergency procedures, drills, and response plans.
• Liaise with regulatory agencies and local authorities.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental science, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) to five (5) years of experience in safety compliance, risk management, or a related field with demonstrated responsibility for regulatory compliance and workplace safety.

Additional Requirements

Valid driver’s license required. Employment is contingent upon successfully passing a background check and drug screen.

Salary range: $67,000–$70,000, depending on qualifications.
