Summary
Wet Utility General Laborer position focused on the installation, maintenance, and repair of underground water and sewer systems pipes, fire hydrants, manholes, and related infrastructure.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with installation and repair of wet utilities (water, sewer, storm drain),
- Dig trenches, clear debris, tools and hazardous materials from job site,
- Perform trenching, pipe laying, and site cleanup,
- Assist with setting up traffic control devices, cones, and construction signage.
- Follow all safety procedures and work as part of a crew,
- Load and unload materials and tools at the job site
- May be required to work extended hours including evenings, nights, and weekends,
- Additional duties as required.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year experience in utility and construction work,
- Ability to work outdoors in various conditions,
- Reliable transportation and strong work ethics,
- Reliable transportation to job sites,
- Must be able to pass drug screen and background checks.
Working Conditions:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-100 pounds continuously throughout the workday,
- Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, reach, squat, and twist, throughout the workday,
- This job requires the ability to stand for extended periods of time,
- This job requires the ability to see, whether naturally or with vision correction tools (glasses, contacts),
- Performing strenuous work in varying temperatures, humidity, wind, or other extreme inclement weather for extended periods of time,
- May perform work in an environment with exposure to fuel, fumes, vapors, dust, grease and oils, as well as loud and/or constant noise and exposure to moving equipment.
Note: This position is considered Safety-Sensitive, and therefore subject to various schedule and unscheduled screenings for controlled substances.
