We are rethinking how these systems are designed, deployed, and maintained—and we’re looking for engineers who challenge the status quo. Our work sits at the intersection of AI, modern robotics, and scalable software systems. We aim to make industrial robotics more intelligent, reliable, and easier to operate. We are an AI-first development team, leveraging cutting-edge tools and practices to move quickly while maintaining strong safety and reliability standards in production environments. <h2>What You’ll Do</h2> As a Full Stack Software Engineer, you will: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Design and develop backend infrastructure powering our robotics platform, including: <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">System provisioning</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Data collection pipelines</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Monitoring and remote troubleshooting</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">AI-driven fleet intelligence</li> </ul> </li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Collaborate closely with robotics engineers to design robust interfaces between hardware and software systems</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Build software across both edge and cloud environments to enable reliable data ingestion, processing, and system orchestration</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Provision and manage cloud infrastructure (primarily AWS)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Write unit and integration tests to ensure system reliability and maintainability</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to team planning and execution</li> </ul> <h2>What Makes You a Great Fit</h2> <ul> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or equivalent practical experience)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">5+ years of experience in full stack software development using Python and modern frontend frameworks (React, React Native, or similar)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience building and operating complex distributed systems (IoT, robotics, automotive, or similar domains preferred)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Hands-on experience developing AI-enabled applications or workflows</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Strong understanding of Linux systems</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience with AWS (AWS IoT experience is a plus)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools (e.g., Grafana, Datadog)</li> <li style="font-size: 12pt;">Experience working with video streaming systems is a plus</li> </ul>  <div class="content-pay-transparency"><div class="pay-input"><div class="description"><h3 data-pm-slice="1 1 []">Our Total Rewards:</h3> At Formic, we believe people do their best work when they feel supported both professionally and personally.
