Job Title: Junior UX UI Designer

Department: Commercial

Location: Vancouver, BC

Work Arrangement: This role is primarily based in the Vancouver Corporate Office with work-from-home flexibility.

Please note : This is a 1-year contract with the potential to become full time.

Position Overview:

The Junior UX/UI Designer will be responsible for crucial role in shaping the digital experience for our customers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and other designers, to create user-centric designs and experiences that align with our brand and business objectives. The Junior UX/UI Designer will be accountable for the following duties:

• User Research
• Help conduct simple user research to understand customer needs, behaviors, and pain points. Translate insights into design solutions that enhance the overall user experience.
• Wireframing and Prototyping
• Create wireframes and interactive prototypes to visualize and test design concepts. Iterate based on feedback and user testing to refine the user interface.
• UI Design
• Develop visually appealing and user-friendly interfaces that align with Flair Airlines' brand guidelines. Ensure consistency across digital platforms and devices. Help expand the education and value of UX and UI design in a team culture.
• Collaboration
• Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and fellow designers. Participate in design critiques, workshops and contribute to a positive team culture.
• User Testing
• Assist in usability testing to gather feedback on designs and incorporate insights into the design process. Continuously iterate and improve designs based on testing outcomes.
• Stay Updated
• Stay informed about industry trends, design best practices, and emerging technologies. Bring fresh ideas and innovative approaches to the design team.
• Idea Sharing
• Actively contribute to brainstorming sessions, share insights, and bring forth fresh perspectives. Collaborate with colleagues to fuel a culture of innovation and excellence in digital design.
• Workshop Support
• Assist in organizing and facilitating design workshops, encouraging team collaboration, and fostering an environment that promotes creative thinking and problem-solving.
• Learning and Development
• Demonstrate a proactive approach to personal and professional growth. Stay abreast of industry trends, attend relevant training sessions, and bring newfound knowledge back to the team.
• Team Engagement
• Engage with team members to build a positive and motivating work atmosphere. Foster open communication and a sense of camaraderie within the digital design team.
• Bridge the gap between design and other departments, promoting a holistic understanding of the importance of user experience and interface design in achieving overall business objectives.

Qualifications & Requirements:

The preferred candidate should exemplify Flair's core values of Respect, Integrity, Reliability, and Resilience while demonstrating success in previous roles. Additionally, we are seeking individuals who possess:

• Education:
• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or a related field.
• Experience:
• 1+ years' experience in the field or equivalent
• Portfolio showcasing relevant design projects and demonstrating a strong understanding of UX/UI principles.
• Competencies:
• Understanding of mobile first and responsive experiences
• Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, Miro, Jira, Clickup or similar.
• Basic understanding of front-end development technologies and their impact on design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Eagerness to learn and adapt to new challenges and design methodologies.
• Requirements:
• Clear criminal record check and satisfactory references
• Must be legally eligible to work in Canada without restriction
