Job Title: Network Operations Center (NOC) Engineer with Azure

Location: Chennai

Shift: 247 Rotational Shifts

Role Overview

We are looking for a Network Operations / Network Engineer (L2) to support 247 network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management across enterprise and cloud environments. The role requires strong network fundamentals, hands‑on incident resolution, and the ability to work closely with Security Operations (SOC) during network‑security incidents.

Key Responsibilities

Network Operations (Primary)

• Monitor enterprise network infrastructure using NMS tools (SNMP, NetFlow, syslogs).
• Perform L2-level troubleshooting for LAN/WAN connectivity, routing & switching issues, VPN and firewall connectivity.
• Investigate and resolve network incidents within defined SLA/OLA.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring network issues.
• Coordinate with ISPs, vendors, and internal L3 engineering teams.
• Execute approved network changes and follow change management processes.
• Maintain accurate documentation, incident updates, and shift handover notes.

Security Operations (Secondary / Collaborative)

• Work alongside SOC teams during DDoS attacks, suspicious traffic incidents, firewall or VPN‑related security alerts.
• Analyze network traffic to support security investigations.
• Assist in containment activities as per SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with security policies and audit requirements.

Technical Skills (Must Have)

• Strong understanding of OSI & TCP/IP models.
• Hands‑on experience with routing protocols (OSPF, BGP basic troubleshooting), switching concepts (VLANs, STP), TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP.
• Experience with firewalls & VPNs (any vendor) and packet analysis / traffic flow understanding.

Soft Skills & Process Knowledge

• Strong incident management and escalation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a 247 environment.
• Clear communication during outages and bridge calls.
• Strong documentation and handover discipline.
• Customer‑focused and security‑aware mindset.

Good to Have

• Exposure to Security Operations (SOC) or hybrid NOC/SOC environments.
• Experience handling DDoS or security‑related network incidents.
• Cloud networking basics (AWS / Azure / GCP).
• ITIL knowledge or certification.
• Network certifications (CCNA, CCNP preferred).

Mandatory Azure Certification.
