Position: Lead 2D Animator

Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly creative Lead 2D Animator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading the animation team, overseeing the end-to-end animation production process, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality visual content. This role requires strong artistic expertise, leadership abilities, and a deep understanding of animation principles to bring concepts and stories to life while maintaining creative excellence and project efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of 2D animators, ensuring high-quality output and adherence to project timelines.
• Collaborate with Creative Directors, Art Directors, Writers, and other stakeholders to understand project objectives and develop animation strategies.
• Review scripts, storyboards, animatics, and visual concepts to ensure alignment with creative goals.
• Create and oversee the production of high-quality 2D animations for films, advertisements, digital content, social media, corporate videos, and other visual media.
• Establish animation styles, workflows, and quality standards across projects.
• Provide creative direction, feedback, and guidance to animators throughout the production process.
• Ensure consistency in character movement, visual storytelling, timing, pacing, and overall animation quality.
• Troubleshoot animation challenges and provide technical solutions to improve production efficiency.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including design, illustration, editing, sound, and production departments.
• Manage project schedules, resource allocation, and task distribution within the animation team.
• Conduct quality reviews and approvals before final delivery.
• Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and animation techniques to continuously enhance team capabilities.
• Foster a collaborative, innovative, and positive work environment.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Animation, Fine Arts, Multimedia, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in 2D animation, with at least 2 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
• Strong portfolio showcasing advanced 2D animation skills, visual storytelling, and leadership contributions across multiple projects.
• Expert proficiency in Adobe After Effects, Adobe Animate, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant animation software.
• Strong understanding of animation principles, including timing, spacing, squash and stretch, anticipation, weight, and character performance.
• Experience managing animation pipelines and coordinating multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to interpret creative briefs and translate them into compelling visual narratives.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to mentor junior and mid-level animators and drive team performance.
• Strong organizational and project management abilities.
• Passion for animation, creativity, and continuous learning.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in advertising agencies, creative studios, production houses, or digital media companies.
• Knowledge of motion graphics, visual effects, and video editing workflows.
• Experience with character rigging and advanced animation techniques.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools and modern animation workflows.
• Experience handling client-facing discussions and presenting creative concepts.

This role is ideal for a seasoned animator who can combine exceptional creative skills with leadership capabilities to drive animation projects from concept to completion while inspiring and developing a high-performing animation team.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹60,000.00 per month
