Position Overview

As the material receiver, you will be responsible for coordinating the receipt of material to the plant. This includes the material receipt process, coordinating with deliveries and purchasing and prompt delivery of urgent items to production. You will also assist the inventory team as availability allows.

Key Accountabilities

  • Receipt of material including tracking packing slips and communicating material arrival and shortages to involved parties and processing the received material in dynamics.
  • Storage of material by project, ensure arriving material is sorted and labeled for use.
  • Daily maintenance of the dock area and receiving doors.
  • Managing the flow of deliveries into the building and coordinating support needs with the Material Handler Team Lead.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy via spot counts and inventory cycle counts and maintain labeling and tagging of material and skids.
  • Maintain material handling equipment including daily check lists and routine maintenance.
  • Maintain cleanliness of storage workspaces for safety and ease of use.
  • Assist Inventory with movement of materials as availability allows.
  • Additional duties as requested by Inventory Management.
  • Assist all other teammates as opportunity allows.
  • Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the Fero Code of Business Conduct.

Qualifications

  • 2-5 Years of experience in a receiving position.
  • Knowledge of construction materials.
  • Forklift certification and experience.
  • Working knowledge of inventory software (Microsoft Dynamics preferred).
  • Ability to work overtime and/or weekends if required.
  • Flexibility to adjust to business needs.

Physical Requirements

  • Must stand for long periods, with frequent lifting up to 50lbs
  • Able to work in all weather conditions including outdoors
  • Bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting, tight spaces and ladder use
  • Working at heights
  • Wearing PPE such as safety boots, safety vest, safety glasses and gloves.
