Role Overview:
As the Plant Manufacturing Engineering Manager at Forvia, your mission will be to ensure series production consistently meets customer requirements, support and drive continuous improvement initiatives, ensure plant readiness for successful launch of recent programs, and manage, monitor, and report key Manufacturing Engineering (ME) performance indicators.
Key Responsibilities:
- Series Production Management:
- Ensure manufacturing processes meet Safety, Quality, Cost, and Delivery (SQCD) targets
- Procure manufacturing equipment considering safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Ensure proper equipment preservation and lifecycle management
- Follow-up on equipment and tooling performance
- Support any Change Management (ECM) process
- Update and standardize manufacturing routines and work instructions
- Maintain machines, tools, and procedures at optimal performance level in compliance with HSE regulations
- Prepare and manage plant Budget and Plant CAPEX
- Oversee plant central maintenance activities
- Monitor and optimize capacity utilization
- Maintain and update plant layout
- Plan, coordinate, and monitor work of external contractors
- Develop and implement procedures within area of responsibility
- Support structured problem-solving initiatives (8D, QRQC, Kaizen, etc.)
- Participate in Plant PDP (Plant Development Plan)
- Continuous Improvement:
- Support continuous improvement activities in labor productivity, quality performance, equipment and tooling efficiency, space utilization, work conditions, and ergonomics
- Drive Lean Manufacturing, waste reduction, and cost optimization initiatives
- Automation and IPP
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will have/be:
- At least 15 to 22 years of experience in Manufacturing area with a background in welding, bending, and canning Technology
- Basic financial skills (costing, budgeting, investment)
