Commercial Contracts Negotiator - Associate Director

Job Description

In this role at EY, you will be responsible for providing inputs to the commercial and contracting proposition for managed services pursuits. Your key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the design of competitive commercial terms for managed services deals by collaborating with various teams such as pursuit leader, solution architect, legal, pricing, negotiations, risk, and independence.
  • Reviewing client proposed commercial and contracting terms to ensure a balance of competitiveness and risk avoidance, in coordination with pursuit leader, solution architect, pricing, legal, quality, risk, and independence.
  • Escalating and providing insights to gain approval for proposals and changes to contracts during negotiation.
  • Supporting commercial and contract negotiations with the Pursuit Lead and Engagement Partner, along with Legal and QRM for strategic deals.
  • Developing existing contract templates and T&Cs during pursuits and negotiations with legal.
  • Providing general support in the commercial and contracting space, including creation and negotiation of preparatory contracts like NDAs, teaming agreements, sub-contracts, and more.
  • Consulting on appropriate choices of contract structures and templates, aligning them with pursuit needs and client requests.
  • Ensuring EY does not deviate from approved contractual positions without proper governance.
  • Supporting the qualification process of strategic pursuits to provide commercial value to EY while mitigating key risks.

In addition to these responsibilities, you will also be required to provide Contract Management functionality on key EY contracts and accounts. This includes developing relationships with Global Delivery Services (GMS India) contract management practitioners, automating CM processes, and transferring commercial and contract knowledge to EY delivery teams.

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • A Law degree, and/or a Post Graduate Business or Contract Law qualification.
  • 15 years of post-qualification experience with a minimum of 10 years in practical contract management or similar roles at a top-tier professional services firm.

Ideally, you should also have experience in ITIL and service management, demonstrating influence and persuasion skills, and advanced knowledge and hands-on experience in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
