CAN Responsibilities

• The Certified Nursing Assistant performs activities which assist the patient in meeting basic human needs and activities of daily living under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Performs additional competencies to enhance coordination and collaboration of patient care under the direction of the RN or LPN.
• Ensures accurate and clear communication to patients, families, and other employees at all times, assisting with other duties as needed to maintain a safe and clean environment.
• Maintains an accurate medical record.

Education

• High school or equivalent (Preferred)

Experience

• At least 1 year prior experience in an acute rehab, skilled nursing or assisted living community is preferred

License/Certification:

• A valid CNA license in the state of Connecticut.
• Must have certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support upon hire

Ability to complete a drug test and background check.

Physical setting:

• Nursing home
