Incident Response and Vulnerability Analyst
Position Overview
The Incident Response and Vulnerability Analyst supports cybersecurity incident management and vulnerability monitoring activities to protect NCATS systems from threats and security breaches.
Key Responsibilities
Incident Management
- Support detection, analysis, containment, and remediation of cybersecurity incidents.
- Document incident response activities and maintain incident reports.
Threat Analysis
- Analyze suspicious events and potential security threats.
- Coordinate with NIH cybersecurity teams during incident response activities.
Vulnerability Management
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and risk analysis.
- Support remediation of security vulnerabilities and track remediation activities.
Security Reporting
- Prepare monthly incident reports and status updates.
- Provide forensic analysis and technical findings following security incidents.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or IT
- 5+ years cybersecurity operations experience
- Experience with security monitoring and incident response tools
Preferred Certifications
- GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH)
- CEH
- Security+
