This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a cloud-native, automation-first environment and wants to drive engineering excellence in a high-impact infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities

Cloud Architecture & Infrastructure

  • Design, deploy, and manage highly available, fault-tolerant AWS architectures (VPC, EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, RDS, S3, CloudFront, etc.).
  • Implement and enforce AWS Well-Architected Framework principles (operational excellence, security, reliability, performance efficiency, cost optimization).
  • Lead migration projects from on-premises or other clouds to AWS.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Author and maintain infrastructure code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or CloudFormation.
  • Build reusable modules, enforce version control, and implement peer review processes for IaC.
  • Automate provisioning, configuration, and drift detection.

CI/CD & DevOps Automation

  • Design and optimize end-to-end CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS CodePipeline.
  • Integrate automated testing, security scanning (SAST/DAST), and deployment strategies (Blue-Green, Canary, Rolling).
  • Enable self-service deployment workflows for development teams.

Observability & Reliability

  • Implement comprehensive monitoring, logging, and alerting using CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, Datadog, or Splunk.
  • Define SLOs/SLIs and lead incident response, post-mortems, and reliability improvements.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for production support.

Security & Compliance

  • Enforce security best practices: IAM least privilege, KMS encryption, Security Groups, NACLs, GuardDuty, Config, and AWS Security Hub.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external standards (SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, etc.).
  • Conduct regular security audits and vulnerability remediation.

Cost Optimization & Governance

  • Monitor and optimize AWS spend using Cost Explorer, Budgets, and tagging strategies.
  • Implement resource lifecycle policies, rightsizing, and spot/fleet strategies.
  • Establish cloud governance frameworks and guardrails.

Collaboration & Mentorship

  • Partner with software engineers, SREs, and security teams to enable cloud-native development.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
  • Document architectures, runbooks, and standard operating procedures.

Required Qualifications
