Storekeeper - WAREHOUSE

Role Overview

The Storekeeper is responsible for end-to-end inventory management within the warehouse, ensuring accurate stock records, proper storage, timely dispatch, and compliance with FMCG handling standards (expiry-sensitive goods, batch tracking, hygiene).

Key Responsibilities1. Inventory Management

• Maintain accurate stock records (inward, outward, and balance)
• Perform daily/weekly stock reconciliation (physical vs system)
• Track batch numbers, manufacturing dates, and expiry dates
• Implement FIFO (First In First Out)

2. Goods Inward (GRN Process)

• Verify incoming goods against:
• Purchase Order (PO)
• Invoice
• Packing List
• Check for damages, shortages, or mismatches
• Prepare and update GRN (Goods Receipt Note)
• Coordinate with procurement for discrepancies

3. Storage & Organization

• Ensure proper stacking as per product category and safety norms
• Maintain cleanliness, hygiene, and pest control standards
• Segregate damaged, expired, and near-expiry stock
• Optimize space utilization in the godown

4. Order Processing & Dispatch

• Pick, pack, and dispatch orders accurately
• Ensure correct documentation:
• Delivery challan
• Invoice
• Coordinate with logistics/transport team for timely dispatch
• Maintain dispatch register

5. Documentation & Record Keeping

• Maintain:
• Stock register
• Inward/Outward register
• Batch-wise inventory
• Ensure proper filing of all warehouse documents
• Update ERP/WMS systems (if applicable)

6. Quality & Compliance

• Ensure adherence to FMCG storage norms (temperature, hygiene)
• Monitor expiry-sensitive products
• Follow safety standards (fire, handling, stacking)
• Support audits and inspections

7. Coordination

• Work closely with:
• Procurement team
• Sales team
• Transport/logistics partners
• Report stock shortages or slow-moving inventory

Key Skills Required

• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations
• Inventory control and reconciliation expertise
• Basic computer skills (Excel, ERP systems)
• Attention to detail (critical for batch/expiry tracking)
• Physical stamina and operational discipline

Qualifications

• Graduate / 12th pass (minimum)
• 1–4 years experience in FMCG warehouse/godown preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
