Job Summary

Elevation Ministries, a multi-generational, nondenominational church located in Baltimore, MD, is looking for a Lead Musician to support weekly worship services through oversight of the praise team and playing during worship services. The ideal candidate must demonstrate a personal commitment to the Gospel of Jesus Christ and desire to support the growth of a local congregation committed to reaching its surrounding community. The selected candidate will be well-versed in various musical genres including praise and worship, contemporary, traditional, and urban gospel music. The role will require oversight of the praise team which includes the selection and preparation of songs for weekly team practices, teaching vocal parts, and execution of weekly worship services. This role will also be responsible for playing during fellowship services, revivals, and miscellaneous special events. This role will also have an opportunity to partner with the senior pastor to develop a phased approach to grow the music department. Our goal is hire not just a musician but someone who is willing to grow with our congregation and develop this important segment of the worship experience.

Duties

• Lead weekly praise and worship team rehearsals
• Collaborate with the Senior Pastor regarding musical selections for worship services
• Collaborate with audio-visual team to ensure effective execution of music ministry.
• Provide appropriate musical accompaniment during Sunday service

Skills

• 3-5 years experience
• Strong leadership abilities to inspire and guide musicians and team
• Excellent communication skills to effectively convey ideas and foster collaboration among team members.
• A passion for worship through music that aligns with the values of Jesus Christ.

Schedule (Approx.)

• Sunday : 10:30 am-2:00pm
• Saturday: 2 hours (weekly rehearsal)

Services:

• Sunday Worship - 11:00 am
• Wednesday Bible Study - 7:30 pm
• Additional weekly service, once per month
• 3-5 years' experience

Experience

• Leading a praise & worship team/accompanying a minister: 3 years (Required)
• Ability to Commute: Reliable transportation (Required)
