Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Assembly Technician role based at Electra EV’s manufacturing facility in Coimbatore. The Assembly Technician will assemble EV powertrain components and sub-assemblies according to standard operating procedures, engineering drawings, and work instructions. Daily responsibilities include using hand and power tools to perform mechanical assembly, electrical connections, and basic soldering where required. The role involves inspecting components, checking fits and alignments, and performing in-process quality checks to ensure adherence to safety, reliability, and performance standards. The technician will also support line setup and changeovers, follow 5S and safety practices, record production data, and collaborate with supervisors, quality teams, and maintenance staff to resolve issues and improve processes.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools for precise and safe mechanical and basic electrical assembly.
- Experience with mechanical assembly processes, including fitting, fastening, and aligning components to defined tolerances.
- Basic soldering skills for electrical connections and component integration, following safety and quality guidelines.
- Knowledge of quality control practices, including visual inspection, measurement, and documentation of non-conformities.
- Completion of ITI/Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience in manufacturing.
- Ability to read and follow assembly drawings, work instructions, and safety procedures.
- Experience in automotive, EV, or electronic assembly manufacturing environments is an advantage.
- Strong attention to detail, willingness to learn, and ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented production setting.
