Job description
- Conducting material field testing such as field compaction testing, wet concrete sampling, and concrete and asphalt coring, as part of QC or QA programs.
- Assisting in conducting laboratory testing, primarily for soils and aggregate.
- Conducting drilling, sampling and factual data reporting for pavement and foundations designs
- Assisting laboratory manager in maintaining the laboratory in appropriate working condition.
- Maintaining a safe working environment by complying with all safety codes, guidelines, and regulations and indicated by Egis and Safety Officer.
- Participating in all assigned Health and Safety training programs.
- Attending in technical training programs as required.
- Maintaining strong and effective working relationship with Egis’ clients and subcontractors.
- Other duties as may be required.
- Post-secondary education in Construction Engineering & or Civil Engineering Technology. Secondary School Diploma will also be considered based on previous work experience, trade or training;
- Previous relevant experience is an asset;
- Available to work flexible schedules and travel to site locations for extended periods of time within Ontario;
- Able to lift and move samples and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated willingness to learn.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills;
- Strong attention to detail, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively;
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team; and
- Possess a valid driver’s license and have access to a vehicle with valid registration and insurance.
