Job Description
Company Description
We are a US (Silicon Valley)based startup building a next-generation social media platform with a global vision. Our product is already in the implementation and validation phase, and we are actively running a full cycle of design ? development ? store release ? post-launch iteration.
We are looking for a Lead / Senior-level mobile frontend engineer who has real experience shipping and operating production mobile apps with React Native.
This is not a task-only role. We are looking for someone who can take ownership of quality, stability, and post-release improvements.
?
Location
- Part time (20hours per week)
?? First, we need to determine on which days and at what times the initial 20 hours will be scheduled. During those hours, attendance for both work and meetings will be required.
??You will be expected to attend meetings during your scheduled working hours. In other words, you are expected to be at your computer at all times during those agreed working hours.
- Fully remote
- Remote collaboration with a US (San Francisco)based product owner and team
?
About the Role
This role is intended for a Senior to Lead-level mobile frontend engineer.
In addition to developing with React Native (Expo), you will be responsible for:
- App Store / Play Store releases
- Versioning and release cycles
- Post-release bug fixes and improvements
- Ongoing iteration to maintain product quality
Requirements will not always be fully defined upfront.
We are looking for someone who can organize problems, propose solutions, and make sound implementation decisions independently.

- Develop mobile applications using React Native (Expo)
- Handle iOS / Android store builds and releases
- Fix post-release bugs and improve stability
- Implement with performance and reliability in mind
- Propose frontend-driven design and architecture improvements
- Collaborate closely with UI/UX, PM, and backend engineers
- Take clear ownership of assigned features
- Gradually participate in technical decision-making as the role grows
?
Required Experience (Must-Haves)
- Shipped at least one mobile app to production using React Native (Apple App Store and/or Google Play Store)
- Hands-on experience with Expo (must understand the difference between managed and bare workflows)
- First-hand experience with:
- App Store / Play Store submission and review
- Release cycles and versioning
- Post-release bug fixes
- Strong React Native fundamentals:
- Navigation
- State management
- Performance basics
- Comfortable debugging on real devices
- Able to work independently with minimal hand-holding
? Candidates with React.js (web-only) experience and no mobile production release will not be considered
?
Explicitly Not a Fit
- No experience shipping a mobile app to the App Store or Play Store
- Have not personally handled store releases
- Strongly opposed to working within Expo constraints
- Requires detailed task-by-task instructions to proceed
?
Nice to Have
- Experience with Expo EAS (builds, submit, updates)
- Experience with OTA updates via Expo Updates
- Experience with bare workflow or custom native modules
- Basic knowledge of Swift or Kotlin
- Experience with mobile CI/CD
- Startup or fast-paced product development experience
?
Work Setup
