DSW Home Care

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Developmental Services Worker to support a 27-year-old man living semi-independently. The ideal candidate will provide guidance, teach life skills, and foster independence while maintaining a positive and engaging environment. Have a great sense of humor that encourages task completion.

· Days and times are negotiable

· 2-3 hours per week

· $22–$25/hour, based on experience and skill

Responsibilities

· Support daily living activities both in and outside the home.

· Teach and reinforce life skills such as household chores, meal preparation, and time management. Prompt personal care (non-intrusive).

· Utilize de-escalation techniques to manage challenging situations calmly and effectively.

· Motivate and encourage the individual to achieve personal goals.

· Negotiate and prioritize tasks collaboratively.

· Promote community involvement and social engagement

Qualifications

· Experience in developmental services with a DSW diploma.

· Strong de-escalation skills and ability to remain calm under pressure.

· Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.

· Ability to motivate and negotiate effectively.

· A good sense of humor and a positive attitude.

· Interest in video games and movies to build rapport and shared activities.
