Job Description
About the Role
Dream Payments is looking for a highly capable Technical Product Manager to own and scale our Point of Sale (POS) Software and Payments Platform, delivered to merchant acquirers and enterprise partners serving SMBs.
This is a platform + distribution product role at the intersection of payments, SaaS, and embedded finance. You will be responsible for defining and delivering a cohesive POS and payments offering that integrates deeply into partner ecosystems, enabling them to better acquire, monetize, and serve merchants.
You will work across engineering, commercial teams, and external partners to build scalable, API-driven payment experiences, ensuring our platform is reliable, extensible, and competitive in a rapidly evolving payments landscape.
What You’ll Own
1. Product Strategy & Vision
- Define and evolve the product vision and multi-year roadmap for Dream’s POS and payments platform
- Identify opportunities to expand capabilities across: Merchant onboarding & lifecycle management, Payment acceptance (in-person, online, omnichannel and Value-added services (reporting, reconciliation, lending, etc.)
- Ensure alignment with: Enterprise partner strategies (acquirers, ISOs, banks) and SMB merchant needs
- Industry and regulatory trends
- Drive build vs. buy vs. partner decisions
2. Platform Product Development
- Own the design and evolution of modular platform capabilities
- Translate complex partner and internal requirements into: Product specs, System-level requirements, Clear, prioritized backlogs
- Partner with engineering on: Architecture decisions, Scalability, performance, and reliability
- Technical trade-offs and sequencing
- Ensure the platform supports: Multi-tenant deployments, Partner customization, and High transaction volumes and uptime
- Identify opportunities to embed AI-driven capabilities into the platform, such as: Intelligent routing and payment optimization, Fraud detection enhancements, Merchant insights and analytics and Automated reconciliation and exception handling
3. End-to-End Product Delivery
- Lead product execution from discovery → delivery → iteration
- Write high-quality: Product requirement documents (PRDs) and User stories and acceptance criteria
- Participate in sprint planning, estimation, and release planning
- Ensure on-time, high-quality delivery across multiple concurrent initiatives
- Drive release readiness with cross-functional stakeholders
- Leverage AI tools to improve: Speed and quality of product documentation, Test case generation and QA workflows, and Cross-team knowledge sharing and alignment
- Continuously evaluate and adopt tools that increase product team efficiency and reduce cycle time
4. Partner & Client Engagement
- Act as a key product contact for enterprise clients and merchant acquirers
- Work directly with partners to: Understand their distribution models and go-to-market strategies, Gather requirements and validate solutions, Support implementations and integrations
- Collaborate with: Sales (deal support, solution positioning), Customer Success (adoption and expansion), and Implementation teams (rollouts and onboarding)
5. Payments & POS Domain Ownership
- Own the evolution of: POS software capabilities, Payment acceptance flows (card-present, card-not-present), Device integrations and terminal ecosystems
- Ensure seamless experiences across: Hardware, Software, Payment processing layers
- Stay ahead of trends in: Embedded payments, SoftPOS / Tap-to-Pay, and Omnichannel commerce
6. Data, Performance & Reliability
- Define and monitor key product and platform KPIs, including: Payment success and authorization rates, Transaction latency and throughput, Platform uptime and SLA adherence, and Merchant and partner adoption
- Use data to: Identify bottlenecks and failure points and Drive prioritization and continuous improvement
- Partner with engineering and ops to ensure high availability and resilience
Qualifications
1) Experience
- 5–8+ years of product management experience in: Payments, fintech, or financial services and POS, SaaS, or platform-based products
- Proven experience delivering technical, API-driven platforms
- Experience working with enterprise clients or B2B2B / B2B2C models
- Strong track record of working closely with engineering teams on complex systems
- Experience working with or alongside AI/ML-powered products or platforms, or applying AI tools within product development workflows
2) Core Skills
- Ability to translate business problems into scalable technical solutions
- Strong understanding of: API design and integrations, Distributed systems and cloud architectures and SaaS and platform product models
- Excellent communication skills (native English) across: Technical teams, Business stakeholders and External partners
- Strong prioritization and decision-making in ambiguous environments
3) AI & Automation in Product Development
- Experience leveraging AI / Generative AI tools to accelerate product development workflows (e.g., requirements generation, prototyping, documentation, testing)
- Ability to incorporate AI into:
- Product discovery (summarizing research, extracting insights)
- Backlog creation and refinement
- Writing PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria
- Familiarity with tools such as:
- LLM-based agents (e.g., ChatGPT, GitHub Copilot)
- AI-assisted analytics and reporting tools
- Strong understanding of prompt design and iterative refinement to improve output quality and team productivity
- Ability to evaluate where AI can meaningfully improve team velocity vs. introduce risk or noise
4) Industry Knowledge (Highly Preferred)
- Deep understanding of the payments ecosystem, including: Acquirers, processors, gateways, and payment networks
- Knowledge of: Card-present and card-not-present flows, Authorization, clearing, settlement, and reconciliation and POS hardware and terminal ecosystems
- Familiarity with: PCI compliance and security considerations and Merchant onboarding (KYC/KYB)
- Exposure to embedded finance or vertical SaaS is a strong plus
