Digital Marketing Strategist & Performance Manager in Kolkata

We are a fast-growing fashion and lifestyle e-commerce brand based in Kolkata, seeking a sharp and strategic Digital Marketing Strategist & Performance Manager to oversee our performance marketing function. In this role, you will not execute campaigns directly but will act as the strategic lead, managing external digital agencies, reviewing performance, and ensuring maximum ROI on all marketing spends.

You will report directly to the founder and have complete ownership of performance outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Agency Oversight & Strategy
• Manage external agencies handling Meta Ads, Google Ads, SEO, and website performance
• Write clear and structured campaign briefs for all marketing initiatives
• Review and challenge agency strategies based on performance data
• Conduct audits of campaign structure, targeting, and keyword strategy
• Recommend monthly budget allocation based on data-driven insights
• Email & WhatsApp Marketing Strategy
• Define strategy and briefs for all email and WhatsApp campaigns
• Decide campaign objectives, targeting, messaging, and success metrics
• Analyze campaign performance and optimize future communication strategies
• Website Performance & CRO
• Conduct regular website audits to identify issues such as broken links, pricing errors, and layout inconsistencies
• Use tools like Microsoft Clarity and PageSpeed Insights to identify user friction points
• Provide clear recommendations for improvements and coordinate with developers for implementation
• SEO Oversight
• Analyze and interpret Google Search Console data independently
• Review agency SEO reports and provide strategic feedback
• Track key keyword rankings and ensure accountability for search performance goals
• Reporting & Insights
• Prepare mid-month performance insights across Meta, Google, SEO, and website analytics
• Deliver end-of-month performance reports comparing actuals vs targets
• Identify reasons for underperformance and propose actionable improvements
• Agency Management & Reviews
• Lead monthly performance review meetings with agencies
• Set agendas, ask critical performance questions, and ensure accountability
• Share meeting notes and insights within 48 hours
• Conduct quarterly agency evaluations and present findings to leadership
• Competitor Monitoring
• Track competitor marketing activity across ads and email channels
• Identify opportunities, trends, and potential threats in the market
• Provide regular competitive intelligence updates to the founder
