Doon Sound Garage is a creative studio based in Dehradun, built for music, storytelling, and original productions. We work across music recording, podcasting, video production, and creative collaborations. We are currently looking for a Music Producer who understands the soul of Pahadi / Uttarakhandi folk music and can help create powerful, rooted, high-quality music that blends tradition with fresh production.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a passionate and skilled Music Producer who can produce, arrange, record, and develop songs in the Pahadi / Uttarakhandi folk space. The ideal candidate should understand local musical sensibilities, folk instruments, vocal styles, and regional sounds, while also being able to bring a modern production quality to the final output.

Key Responsibilities:

• Produce and arrange original Pahadi / Uttarakhandi folk songs
• Work with singers, lyricists, musicians, and studio artists during recordings
• Develop music compositions that stay rooted in folk culture while sounding fresh and high-quality
• Handle beat production, arrangement, layering, and sound design where needed
• Record, edit, mix, and help shape final tracks
• Suggest instrumentation, mood, sonic direction, and overall sound identity for songs
• Collaborate on music projects for albums, singles, reels, background scores, and live-style sessions
• Help identify and preserve authentic folk elements in production
• Contribute creatively to building a distinct sound for the studio in the regional music space

Ideal Candidate Profile:

• Strong understanding of Pahadi / Uttarakhandi folk music
• Experience producing regional or folk-based music is highly preferred
• Good musical ear for melody, arrangement, rhythm, and vocal texture
• Ability to blend traditional folk with contemporary production when required
• Comfortable working with artists in a collaborative studio environment
• Passion for preserving and evolving local music culture
• Based in Dehradun or open to working from the studio regularly

Technical Skills Preferred:

• Experience with DAWs such as Logic Pro, Ableton, FL Studio, Cubase, Pro Tools, or similar
• Recording, editing, and mixing knowledge
• Understanding of live instruments and folk arrangements
• Ability to guide vocal performances and session flow
• Basic knowledge of mastering is a plus
