We foster a collaborative, innovative, and results-oriented culture where every team member contributes to our mission of making the internet safer.
As we continue our product-fueled growth by adding new features and broadening our solution to meet the needs of the global market, it's clear there's a missing piece. That's where you come in!
We are looking for a Senior Communications Manager & Press Officer, who will report to the Vice President of Communications & Investor Relations in Marketing, to lead day-to-day execution of DNSFilter's media plans and ensure we are consistently visible, relevant, and differentiated in the global cybersecurity conversation. This is a front-line, market-facing role for someone who lives and breathes media, understands narrative velocity, and knows how to turn moments into momentum. The ideal candidate is a deeply connected, proactive communicator with a strong editorial instinct, proven tier-one media relationships, and the ability to translate complex technical topics into compelling stories at speed.
Eligible candidates have and can work successfully in a small to mid-sized fast-paced, hyper-growth, SaaS start-up or scale-up.
We recognize that people come with a wealth of experience and talent beyond just the technical requirements of a job. If you feel like this job is for you, please apply. We believe diversity of experience and skills, including transferable skills, combined with passion, is a key to innovation and excellence; therefore, we encourage people from all backgrounds to apply to our positions!
In this role, you will:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with tier-one journalists, editors, and media outlets to proactively secure high-impact coverage across cybersecurity, technology, business, and AI press
- Identify and act on newsjacking opportunities to translate technical capabilities and threat intelligence into compelling, media-ready narratives that differentiate DNSFilter in the market
- Serve as a first responder to breaking news, emerging threats, and incidents in order to establish DNSFilter as a trusted authority through timely commentary and positioning
- Partner with senior leadership to prepare for media engagements, drafting talking points, briefing documents, and reactive statements that build executive visibility and credibility
- Work closely with PR agencies to drive output, accountability, and results, tracking media performance, share of voice, and impact metrics to continuously optimize strategy
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Threat Intelligence, and GTM teams to surface story-worthy insights and shape DNSFilter's voice across cybersecurity, AI, and digital risk
To qualify for this role, you have:
- 5+ years of experience across Public Relations, Communications, and Media Relations
- Proven track record of securing tier-one media coverage in cybersecurity, enterprise technology, or SaaS
- Strong understanding of the cybersecurity landscape and threat ecosystem
- Demonstrated ability to simplify complex technical topics into clear, compelling narratives under pressure
- Experience working in high-growth, fast-paced environments with a bias toward action and outcomes
- Established media network with existing relationships across cybersecurity and enterprise tech press
- Experience managing PR agency relationships with accountability to measurable performance outcomes
- Background supporting executive media programs, including briefing prep, interview coaching, or thought leadership development
- Ability to work hours overlapping with ET hours
- Must be eligible to work in the region of hire without sponsorship from an employer now and/or in the future
We Offer:
- Pathway to promotion to additional organizational positions and responsibilities based upon results and performance, not just time in the chair. You help us grow, and we will help you grow.
- Passionate and intelligent colleagues who work hard and have a good time doing it
- Paid company-wide week off at the end of each year
- Flexible Vacation Policy
- Awesome company swag
- Full medical, dental, and vision benefits for US, UK, and Canada-based employees
- Full short-term disability and life benefits; available long-term disability
- Retirement savings account options with vested company matching for qualifying employees
- In-person annual gatherings. Last time we all spent a week on a beach in the Dominican Republic!
