Role Overview:
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial accounting, reporting, and compliance in the apparel/fashion industry operations, including inventory, costing, and intercompany accounting. Your role will involve ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information across multiple business units. You should have prior experience with Momentis, WFX, Great Plains (Microsoft Dynamics GP), and Power BI. As a hands-on leader, you will drive process improvements, manage audits, and build efficient, scalable accounting frameworks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the accounting team and manage all financial operations, including GL, AR/AP, inventory, payroll, and consolidations.
- Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP.
- Maintain and enhance internal controls, accounting policies, and documentation.
- Collaborate with senior management to drive budgeting, forecasting, and performance reporting processes.
- Manage external audits and coordinate with tax and compliance advisors.
- Oversee ERP and reporting systems, optimizing workflows and integrations with Momentis, WFX, and Great Plains.
- Develop financial dashboards and analytics using Power BI to improve decision-making and operational visibility.
- Support cross-functional initiatives related to automation, inventory valuation, and system implementations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, including at least 3 years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role.
- Prior experience in apparel/fashion, consumer products, or retail industries is required.
- Strong technical accounting knowledge (U.S. GAAP, consolidations, inventory, and cost accounting).
- Hands-on experience with Momentis, WFX, Great Plains/Microsoft Dynamics GP, and Power BI.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple entities, and excel in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
