Job Description
DevOps Engineer (Azure Infrastructure & Automation)
District Partners has been engaged by a well-established trade association to identify a hands-on DevOps Engineer to help modernize infrastructure, expand automation capabilities, and support a growing cloud and infrastructure environment. The ideal candidate built their foundation in systems administration, infrastructure engineering, or network engineering before evolving into cloud automation and DevOps. This is an opportunity to join a lean technology team where engineers are trusted with broad ownership and meaningful influence across cloud, infrastructure, automation, and operational initiatives.
Why You'll Actually Care
Technology plays a strategic role within the organization, and the team is investing heavily in automation, cloud infrastructure, and operational maturity. This role was created to add engineering depth, improve scalability, and increase operational maturity across the technology organization.
Unlike larger organizations where responsibilities are highly specialized, this role offers exposure across cloud infrastructure, automation, networking, enterprise systems, and security initiatives. Team members are expected to wear multiple hats, collaborate across disciplines, and contribute wherever needed to support the broader technology organization.
This is a highly hands-on role where the successful candidate will contribute directly to engineering, administration, automation, troubleshooting, and operational support efforts.
The Basics
- Full-time, permanent opportunity
- Microsoft Azure environment
- Small, collaborative technology team
- Broad technical ownership across infrastructure, automation, and cloud operations

The Environment
This role is best suited for someone who enjoys solving infrastructure challenges through automation and is comfortable working across cloud, systems, networking, and operational initiatives.
Engineers are expected to be hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable operating across multiple technology domains. Candidates whose experience has been primarily focused on software development and deployment pipelines without significant infrastructure ownership may find the role less aligned with their background.
