Gas Pipefitter / Gas Utility Installer

Diamond’s Management Group, Inc. is seeking a skilled and safety-driven Gas Pipefitter to support underground utility operations, including the installation, repair, and maintenance of natural gas systems. This role is critical to maintaining operational excellence, regulatory compliance, and jobsite safety across all projects. The ideal candidate brings hands-on field experience, understands gas utility standards, and operates with a high level of accountability and precision.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain natural gas piping systems (plastic and steel) in accordance with industry and company standards
- Perform pipe fusion, threading, and tie-ins for gas distribution systems
- Read and interpret construction drawings, utility plans, and specifications
- Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, and system inspections
- Excavate and prepare trenches for pipe installation (hand tools and equipment support)
- Ensure all work complies with OSHA, VDOT, and local utility regulations
- Maintain strict adherence to 811/Dig Safe protocols prior to excavation
- Coordinate with crew leaders, foremen, and inspectors to ensure quality control
- Identify and mitigate jobsite hazards to uphold a safe working environment
- Complete daily reports and documentation as required
Qualifications
- Minimum 2+ years of experience in gas utility installation or pipefitting
- Experience with natural gas distribution systems (preferred)
- Knowledge of fusion equipment and gas piping methods
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and utility plans
- Valid Driver’s License (CDL preferred but not required)
- Strong understanding of jobsite safety standards and compliance requirements
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform physically demanding tasks
Preferred Certifications
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
- Operator Qualification (OQ) certifications for gas work
- Confined Space / Trench Safety Training
- CPR/First Aid Certification
