Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to join a high-impact engineering team responsible for building and scaling modern cloud-based applications. This role is backend-focused with full-stack responsibilities, requiring strong experience in Go, distributed systems, and system architecture, along with frontend development using React.

The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing and building scalable backend services while contributing to frontend development and overall platform architecture. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, UX designers, and engineers to deliver high-performance systems that power critical business capabilities.

This role is approximately 60% backend development and system architecture and 40% frontend development, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy working across the full technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance backend services using Go in a distributed systems environment.
• Build and enhance full-stack applications using modern frontend frameworks such as React.
• Design scalable and resilient system architectures that support high availability and performance.
• Develop and integrate event-driven systems using Kafka for real-time data processing and communication.
• Collaborate with product, UX, and engineering teams to deliver customer-facing applications and platform capabilities.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code while adhering to best engineering practices.
• Participate in architecture discussions, system design, and technical decision-making.
• Troubleshoot production issues and implement solutions that improve reliability and performance.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence and collaboration.
• Contribute to code reviews, design reviews, and engineering documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 6+ years of professional software development experience.
• Strong experience building backend systems using Go (Golang).
• Experience developing full-stack applications, including frontend development with React and modern JavaScript frameworks.
• Experience working with Kafka or other event-driven messaging systems.
• Strong understanding of system design, distributed systems, and scalable architecture.
• Experience designing and consuming RESTful APIs and microservices architectures.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerized environments.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly.
