Job Description
Strength & Conditioning Coach (Full-Time)
Denman Athletics (West End, Vancouver) is hiring a full-time Strength & Conditioning Coach/Personal Trainer. We’re looking for go-getters and high performers who see coaching as a long-term career, not a side gig. If you’re serious about strength & conditioning, love working on a team, and want a clear path into a Senior or Head Coach role (for the right skillset and performance), we want to hear from you.
The Role
You’ll coach a blend of Small Group Personal Training (SGPT, 1–6 clients) and group conditioning. You’ll guide clients across a wide range of abilities, driving progress through smart programming, clear coaching, and consistent accountability.
What You’ll Do
- Coach SGPT sessions using structured, progressive strength programs
- Lead conditioning classes focused on quality movement and intent
- Onboard new clients with isometric/movement assessments and goal setting
- Run regular check-ins and training reviews to keep clients progressing
- Contribute to events, social content, and community engagement
- Support day-to-day operations (session prep, clean, organized floor)
- Join team meetings and ongoing coach education
What You Bring
- Certification in S&C or Personal Training (CSEP, NSCA, CF-L1+ or similar) — or equivalent experience
- Degree/diploma in kinesiology/exercise science is an asset
- 3+ years coaching in group or semi-private settings (preferred)
- Background in sports performance/athletic development is strongly considered
- You train what you coach: strength & conditioning is your base
- Confident with cues, regressions/progressions, and real-time problem solving
- Excellent communication, team-first mindset, and a coachable attitude
Availability
- Mix of early mornings, evenings, and Saturday mornings
- Split shifts may be part of the week, with dedicated admin/education time
Compensation & Benefits
- $55,000–$65,000 salary (based on experience and skillset)
- Extended health & dental benefits after 3 months
- 3-month probation at starting rate to assess fit and performance
- Clear growth track: potential transition into Senior Coach or Head Coach with expanded responsibilities and adjusted compensation based on impact and leadership
