Job Description

The School Counsellor will support the academic, emotional, social, and career development of students in alignment with CBSE guidelines. The role involves providing counselling services, implementing preventive and developmental programs, and collaborating with teachers, parents, and school leadership to create a safe and supportive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Student Counselling & Support

  • Provide individual and group counselling to students for emotional, behavioral, social, and academic concerns.
  • Address issues such as stress, anxiety, peer pressure, bullying, and family-related challenges.
  • Maintain confidential student records and counselling reports.

2. Career Guidance

  • Assist students in identifying career interests, strengths, and goals.
  • Conduct career counselling sessions, aptitude assessments, and workshops.
  • Guide students on subject selection and higher education opportunities.

3. Preventive & Developmental Programs

  • Design and implement life skills programs (as per CBSE guidelines).
  • Conduct workshops on mental health awareness, study skills, exam stress management, and personal development.
  • Promote a positive school climate and student well-being.

4. Collaboration

  • Work closely with teachers to identify and support students with academic or behavioral concerns.
  • Engage with parents through meetings and counselling sessions.
  • Coordinate with external professionals when specialized intervention is required.

5. Crisis Management

  • Provide immediate support during crises (e.g., trauma, grief, emergencies).
  • Develop and implement intervention plans.

6. Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate counselling records and reports.
  • Submit periodic reports to school management.
  • Ensure compliance with CBSE policies and child protection guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Master’s degree in Psychology / Counselling / Child Development.
  • Diploma or certification in School Counselling (preferred).
  • Minimum 1 years of experience in a school setting (CBSE experience preferred).
  • Strong communication, empathy, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to handle sensitive situations with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Knowledge of child protection and mental health practices.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹10,000.00 - ₹15,000.00 per month
