About the Role

We are seeking an Agricultural Scientist (Freelancer) to support advanced AI evaluation initiatives focused on agricultural science, crop production, agronomy, soil science, sustainable farming, agricultural research, and data-driven decision-making in agriculture.

In this role, you will evaluate AI-generated outputs related to crop management, plant science, soil health, agricultural practices, farm productivity, pest and disease management, agricultural research, and sustainability initiatives. Your expertise will help improve AI systems designed for agricultural intelligence, scientific reasoning, research assistance, and agribusiness decision-making.

This position is ideal for professionals with experience in agricultural science, agronomy, crop science, soil science, horticulture, plant breeding, agricultural biotechnology, agricultural extension, or related fields.

Responsibilities

Create deliverables addressing common agricultural science and farming-related scenarios
Annotate and evaluate AI-generated agricultural analyses, research summaries, technical reports, and recommendations
Assess AI outputs for scientific accuracy, agronomic validity, practical applicability, and logical reasoning
Review AI-generated content involving crop production, soil management, irrigation systems, plant nutrition, pest control, and sustainable agriculture
Evaluate outputs related to agricultural research methodologies, field trials, crop improvement programs, and farm management practices
Identify scientific inaccuracies, unsupported recommendations, data interpretation issues, and reasoning errors in AI-generated outputs
Provide structured feedback to improve AI performance in agricultural and life sciences workflows
Support projects involving agricultural research, agribusiness analysis, food systems, and environmental sustainability
Review peer-developed deliverables to maintain quality and consistency standards
Contribute domain expertise to improve AI systems focused on agricultural intelligence and scientific research

Requirements

Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Agriculture, Agronomy, Crop Science, Soil Science, Horticulture, Plant Science, Agricultural Biotechnology, Agricultural Engineering, or a related discipline
3+ years of experience in agricultural research, crop management, agribusiness, agricultural consulting, academia, or extension services
Strong understanding of agricultural production systems, crop management practices, and farm operations
Familiarity with agricultural research methods, field experimentation, and data analysis
Knowledge of crop nutrition, irrigation management, integrated pest management (IPM), and soil fertility management
Strong analytical thinking, scientific reasoning, and problem-solving skills
Excellent written English communication skills
Ability to evaluate AI-generated outputs for scientific accuracy and practical relevance
Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with agricultural research institutes, universities, government agricultural agencies, agritech companies, or agribusiness organizations
Familiarity with agricultural data analytics, GIS tools, remote sensing, precision farming technologies, or farm management systems
Experience publishing agricultural research papers or technical reports
Knowledge of climate-smart agriculture, regenerative agriculture, sustainable farming practices, or food security initiatives
Experience with agricultural biotechnology, genomics, crop breeding, or seed technology programs
Familiarity with AI-powered agricultural tools and digital farming technologies
Contributions to agricultural research projects, conferences, or professional associations
