Job Summary
The Training & Development Coordinator is responsible for the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of organization-wide training and development programs. This role ensures that all employees—including Operators, Call Centre staff, Maintenance, and Administrative teams—receive consistent, effective training aligned with organizational goals, compliance requirements, and service standards.
The Training & Development Coordinator works closely with department leaders to identify training needs, develop learning solutions, and evaluate program effectiveness to support employee performance and organizational success.
This position reports to the HR & Board Administrator.
Responsibilities
Training Strategy & Program Development
- Identify organizational training needs through consultation with leadership, performance data, and operational requirements.
- Design, develop, and maintain comprehensive training programs across all departments.
- Standardize training materials, manuals, and onboarding processes to ensure consistency.
- Develop both in-person and virtual training content, including presentations, guides, and job aids.
Training Delivery & Facilitation
- Deliver training sessions for new hires and existing employees across the organization.
- Facilitate onboarding programs to ensure a smooth and effective employee integration experience.
- Adapt training delivery methods to suit different learning styles and operational needs.
- Coordinate and schedule training sessions, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Evaluation & Continuous Improvement
- Evaluate training effectiveness through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics.
- Identify gaps in knowledge or performance and implement targeted training solutions.
- Continuously update training content to reflect policy changes, system updates, and best practices.
Compliance & Policy Training
- Ensure all mandatory training (including health & safety, accessibility, workplace policies) is completed and tracked.
- Maintain training records and ensure compliance with legislative and organizational requirements.
- Support audits and reporting related to training and compliance.
Collaboration & Support
- Partner with department leaders to support employee development and performance improvement initiatives.
- Provide guidance and coaching to supervisors on training-related matters.
- Support HR initiatives such as performance management, employee engagement, and succession planning.
Technology & Systems
- Utilize and maintain training tracking systems and learning tools.
- Support the implementation and optimization of learning management systems (LMS).
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues related to training delivery and materials.
Administration
- Maintain accurate training records, schedules, and documentation.
- Prepare reports on training activities, participation, and outcomes.
- Assist with general HR administrative tasks as required.
Other
- Other duties as required.
Job Specifications
- 2–3 years of experience in training, learning & development, or adult education.
- Experience designing and delivering training programs in a workplace setting.
- Strong facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience with training systems or learning management systems is an asset.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards, workplace legislation, and training compliance requirements is an asset.
- Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- A valid G driver’s licence, clean driver’s abstract, and vulnerable sector check is required.
- Knowledge of DARTS operations, systems, and service delivery is considered an asset.
