This is a hands-on, fast-paced leadership role in a dynamic, year-round production environment. We are looking for a dependable, hardworking, and solution-oriented individual who thrives outdoors, enjoys leading by example, and can help support daily farm operations while maintaining high production standards.
We are seeking anAssistant Manager to join our team at our Nottoway Shrub & Tree Production Farm. This role is essential in supporting key farm functions, including irrigation, plant health, inventory, and chemical applications. No prior experience in every area is required we are willing to train the right candidate who is eager to learn and grow within the company.

Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage irrigation systems and daily watering schedules
- Monitor and maintain plant entry records and plant health documentation
- Conduct regular plant health assessments and coordinate care protocols
- Track and manage inventory for shrub and tree production
- Maintain accurate operational records and accounts
- Participate in weekend water checks on a rotating schedule
- Apply and manage chemical treatments in accordance with safety and production standards
- Operate and oversee spraying equipment and scheduling
- Manage fertilization programs to support healthy plant growth
- Support overall farm operations and assist team members as needed
Requirements
- Strong work ethic and willingness to work in an outdoor, hands-on environment
- Ability to lead by example and work collaboratively with a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to learn and follow safety procedures related to equipment and chemical use
- Previous agricultural, landscaping, or nursery experience Preferred but not required
- Comfortable operating equipment or willing to be trained
Schedule & Benefits
- Schedule: Monday Friday, 7:00 AM 3:30 PM
- Weekend Duties: Rotating water responsibility checks
