Position Overview
Our client, a well-known retail / CPG brand, is looking for a Freelance Social Media / PR Manager to assist their team during a 6-month parental leave coverage. This will be a hybrid role, ideally 3 days per week onsite, at their Stamford, CT office.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and execute the social media strategy and content calendar, aligning with product launches, retail priorities, and seasonal campaigns
- Deliver cohesive, high-quality brand storytelling across platforms while driving engagement through community management, activations, and partnerships
- Lead influencer marketing efforts, including creator sourcing, campaign briefing, content approvals, and performance tracking
- Collaborate with key retail partners (Amazon, Target, Costco) on creator-led initiatives and manage product seeding and asset libraries
- Oversee PR initiatives including media outreach, product launches, press placements, and cultural moment activations
- Monitor brand sentiment and provide reporting with actionable insights and recommendations
- Manage external agencies and partner cross-functionally with internal teams to deliver integrated, high-impact campaigns
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in social media, influencer marketing, and/or PR
- Deep understanding of key platforms including Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Meta, and Reddit
- Experience managing agencies and working cross-functionally in dynamic, fast-paced environments
- Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Excellent communication and storytelling abilities
- Data-driven mindset with a focus on performance optimization and measurable business impact
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with Sprout Social and Monday.com is a plus
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
