Plant Manager

Location: Vancouver BC

Company: Tier 1 Global size CPG Manufacturing organization

We are seeking a results-driven Plant Manager to lead our facility within a high-speed, matrix manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for overseeing the full scope of plant operations, including production, packaging, and maintenance, while managing a comprehensive operational budget. The successful candidate will foster a culture of safety and food quality while driving performance through rigorous KPI management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Leadership: Manage end-to-end production and packaging operations, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime within a complex matrix reporting structure.
  • Financial Accountability: Oversee the annual operational budget, driving cost-saving initiatives and managing P&L performance.
  • Labor Relations: Lead and manage a unionized workforce, ensuring compliance with collective bargaining agreements and fostering a collaborative labor-management relationship.
  • Performance Management: Establish and monitor aggressive KPIs related to OEE, yield, labor efficiency, and waste reduction.
  • Compliance & Safety: Maintain world-class standards for Food Safety (SQF/BRC) and Occupational Health & Safety, ensuring a "safety first" culture across all shifts.

Qualifications

  • Education: University Degree is required (Engineering, Business, or related technical field).
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years of senior operations management experience, ideally within the Food/CPG industry.
  • Expertise: Proven track record in a matrix organization and significant experience working within a unionized environment.
  • Skills: Strong data-driven decision-making skills and a background in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma is highly preferred.
