Job Description
As a Satellite AIT Engineer-Mechanical at Cosmoserve Space, your primary role will involve assembling satellite hardware, integrating mechanical subsystems, and ensuring the flawless functionality of spacecraft through rigorous testing procedures. You will be responsible for the mechanical assembly, integration, testing, and verification of satellites to ensure they can withstand the extreme conditions of launch and space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Mechanical Assembly and Integration
- Assemble satellite structures, panels, brackets, mechanisms, payloads, and subsystems
- Integrate mechanical, thermal, and sometimes electrical components into the spacecraft
- Perform structural bonding and adhesive operations
- Satellite Build Activities
- Build spacecraft modules and subassemblies
- Route and secure harnesses, cables, and mechanical interfaces
- Support final spacecraft integration before environmental testing and launch
- Testing and Verification
- Conduct qualification and acceptance tests
- Support various testing procedures including vibration, shock, acoustic, thermal vacuum, and mechanical load testing
- Verify spacecraft compliance with launch load design and mission requirements
- Design of Tooling & Fixtures
- Develop requirements, designs, and ongoing support for mechanical ground support equipment
- Design, develop, and maintain tooling and fixtures required for satellite Assembly & integration
- Quality Assurance and Inspection
- Perform quality inspections to ensure alignment, dimensions, and assembly correctness
- Ensure compliance with aerospace standards and cleanroom procedures
- Identify and report non-conformances or hardware issues
- Documentation and Reporting
- Create and maintain assembly records and test reports
- Update integration logs and configuration documentation
- Troubleshooting and Problem Solving
- Diagnose assembly and integration issues
- Support root-cause analysis during testing failures
Minimum Qualifications:
- B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 2-3 years of hands-on experience handling End-to-End mechanical AIT for Nano, Micro, and small satellites
