Job Description
We are seeking a highly experienced, technically proficient, and results-driven Production Manager to lead the manufacturing and plant operations for our large-scale precast construction project based in Hedri.
This leadership position offers complete responsibility for establishing, scaling, and managing high-capacity precast production facilities, including casting yards and automated batching plants. The successful candidate will ensure uninterrupted production of precast elements to meet demanding project schedules while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, productivity, and cost control.
The role requires strong expertise in precast manufacturing, plant management, workforce leadership, production planning, and advanced precast technologies.
Organizational Structure
- Direct Report: Project Manager
- Matrix Reporting: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
- Engineering Team Managed: 40+ professionals including Production Engineers, QA/QC Engineers, Shift Supervisors, Maintenance Leads, and Yard Logistics Coordinators
- Workforce Managed: 800+ direct and subcontracted workers

Key Responsibilities
Plant Setup, Commissioning & Production Planning
- Lead commissioning, calibration, testing, and stabilization of all production equipment and plant assets.
- Develop and implement production strategies aligned with project execution schedules.
- Convert master construction plans into daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
- Optimize plant layouts and workflows to maximize productivity and minimize operational bottlenecks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and Lean Manufacturing practices.
- Achieve and maintain Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets exceeding 85%.
Production Operations & Workforce Management
- Lead and manage a multidisciplinary team of engineering and production professionals.
- Plan and control workforce deployment, shift schedules, attendance, and productivity metrics.
- Monitor labor efficiency and production output to achieve project milestones.
- Establish competency-based training programs for production and safety-critical activities.
- Promote a culture of accountability, discipline, and operational excellence.
Advanced Precast Manufacturing Operations
- Oversee production using battery moulds, tilting tables, and automated casting systems.
- Manage pre-tensioning and post-tensioning operations, ensuring compliance with engineering specifications.
- Monitor calibration of hydraulic systems, stressing equipment, and prestressing operations.
- Develop and control accelerated curing cycles to maximize bed utilization and production output.
- Ensure compliance with approved manufacturing processes and technical standards.
Quality Assurance & Process Control
- Work closely with QA/QC teams to enforce stringent quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with approved Quality Assurance Plans (QAP).
- Monitor incoming raw materials, including cement, aggregates, admixtures, reinforcement steel, and prestressing strands.
- Maintain dimensional accuracy and structural compliance of all precast elements.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects, rejections, or quality deviations and implement corrective actions.
- Drive reject minimization and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Yard Logistics & Supply Chain Coordination
- Coordinate closely with Project Execution and Site Erection teams to align production with installation priorities.
- Manage inventory, stacking, storage, and dispatch of finished precast elements.
- Implement material tracking systems using RFID, barcoding, or digital inventory controls.
- Supervise loading, rigging, lifting, and transportation activities for heavy precast components.
- Ensure safe and damage-free handling throughout the logistics cycle.
Safety, Cost Control & Reporting
- Lead and enforce a Zero-Harm safety culture across all plant operations.
- Ensure compliance with HSE standards, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Monitor high-risk activities including crane operations, prestressing works, steam curing systems, and heavy lifting.
- Conduct regular material reconciliation and wastage analysis.
- Control consumption of cement, reinforcement steel, prestressing strands, embeds, and chemical admixtures.
- Maintain material wastage within approved project benchmarks.
- Prepare and present daily, weekly, and monthly production performance reports.
- Report production progress, cost variances, equipment utilization, and operational KPIs to senior management and the CEO.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, or related discipline.
- 12–14 years of total experience in construction manufacturing and precast operations.
- Minimum 6–8 years of dedicated experience in high-volume precast concrete manufacturing.
- Proven experience managing large casting yards and precast production facilities.
- Strong understanding of prestressing systems, concrete technology, batching plants, and precast production methodologies.
