Job Description
Summary
Core Molding Technologies is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to support our manufacturing operations through process improvement, equipment optimization, automation, and capital projects. This hands-on engineering role partners closely with Production, Maintenance, and Quality to improve safety, reliability, productivity, and cost performance while supporting new product launches and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and improve manufacturing equipment, tooling, and production processes using SolidWorks and CAD software
- Develop engineering drawings, documentation, and technical specifications
- Support capital projects including equipment purchases, upgrades, automation, and facility improvements
- Troubleshoot manufacturing and equipment issues using root cause analysis and implement permanent corrective actions
- Design, build, and test prototypes, fixtures, and experimental equipment
- Provide day-to-day engineering support to Production and Maintenance teams
- Improve equipment reliability, manufacturing efficiency, quality, and operating costs
- Lead or support continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, productivity, and waste reduction
- Coordinate project schedules, budgets, risk management, and implementation activities
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, safety regulations, and applicable codes
- Document engineering changes and communicate improvements across the organization
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related engineering discipline (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
- 5+ years of manufacturing or industrial engineering experience
- Experience supporting production equipment, manufacturing processes, and plant operations
- Proficiency with SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office
- Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of hydraulic systems and industrial equipment
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing processes and equipment failures
- Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation
- Experience with automation, robotics, or material handling systems
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical control systems
- Exposure to compressors, chillers, cooling towers, or other industrial utilities
- Project management experience
- Knowledge of ergonomic assessments and industrial safety standards
