Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role for a Tool and Die Maker/Machinist based in the Greater Vancouver Metropolitan Area. The successful candidate will fabricate, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, and molds. Key responsibilities include operating machine tools, measuring and inspecting finished products for accuracy, interpreting technical blueprints, and performing assembly or disassembly of molds and dies. The role also involves troubleshooting production issues, collaborating with the engineering team, and adhering to all workplace safety standards.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in machining operations including manual milling, turning, grinding, and CNC programming
- Experience in tool, die, mold design, and assembly or maintenance
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and GD&T specifications
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair mechanical and tooling issues
- Knowledge of material properties and heat treatment processes
- Familiarity with CAD/CAM software and precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, CMMs)
- Adherence to workplace safety standards and lean manufacturing practices
- Certification as a Tool and Die Maker or equivalent work experience preferred
- Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and ability to work independently or as part of a team
