Job Description

Job Overview

We’re a lean conservative media team delivering unfiltered, hard-hitting coverage of Congress and national politics to millions of viewers across social media.

We’re looking for a high-energy, highly capable production assistant and video editor to work directly alongside our on-camera congressional reporter. This is a hands-on, fast-moving role where you’ll be filming, editing, and preparing content for rapid release in a real-time news environment.

This is not a desk job. You’ll be on your feet, carrying gear, navigating Capitol Hill, and jumping on breaking stories as they happen.

You will be expected to film, edit, and fully prepare content for publication daily, often within minutes of an event—without hand-holding.

If you thrive under pressure, move fast, think creatively, and want to play a key role in shaping high-impact conservative media, we want to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Film and professionally edit video (interviews, pressers, stand-ups, B-roll, rapid-response clips)
  • Turn around high-quality short-form content quickly—often within minutes—for maximum social media impact
  • Prepare fully ready-to-publish content (final edits, captions, headline text, thumbnails, formatting, and platform-specific versions i.e. X, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube Shorts, etc.)
  • Conduct daily research on legislation, hearings, members of Congress, and breaking political news
  • Proactively reach out to congressional offices to book interviews and coordinate logistics
  • Brainstorm and execute editorial angles aligned with our conservative perspective
  • Draft tight, fact-based editorial packages and on-camera scripts—often on short notice—to support regular coverage of political news
  • Serve as the reporter’s right-hand assistant—anticipate needs, manage logistics, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks
  • Handle, transport, and set up camera/audio equipment throughout long days on Capitol Hill

What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)

  • Proven video skills: Strong filming and editing ability; fast, reliable, and detail-oriented under deadline pressure
  • Technical proficiency: Strong experience with professional video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar), plus familiarity with modern short-form and AI-assisted tools (e.g., OpusClip or equivalent).
  • Conservative alignment: Strong understanding of conservative politics, messaging, and the current media landscape
  • Research & outreach: Excellent written and verbal communication; comfortable pitching, emailing, and calling congressional offices
  • High initiative: Self-starter who anticipates needs, solves problems, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Physical readiness: Able to carry gear and stay on your feet for extended periods on Capitol Hill

Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)

  • Prior experience working on Capitol Hill or covering Congress
  • Background in political media
  • Existing relationships with congressional staff or press offices
  • Demonstrated success producing viral or high-performing social media content

Pay: $75,000.00 - $95,000.00 per year

Benefits

  • Dental insurance
  • Health insurance
  • Paid time off
  • Vision insurance

Work Location: In person
