Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to provide support and care to one individual in a care facility

Requirements

CNA/PCA/NA/HHA certificate/license in accordance with Virginia state law PREFERRED.

· Ability to pass Criminal Background Check

· Must have a smart phone

· Ability to read, write and converse in English

· Reliable transportation/Valid Driver’s License/Auto Insurance

· Ability to perform job duties without limitations or restrictions

· Positive attitude, great communication skills, and the ability to work independently

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and emotional support to the assigned individual, ensuring comfort and dignity in daily life.
• Advocate on behalf of the individual by communicating needs and concerns to nursing staff and facility personnel.
• Respond promptly to requests by calling the nurse or appropriate staff when medical or physical assistance is required.
• Engage in conversation and provide attentive listening to support the individual’s emotional well-being.
• Assist with non-medical daily needs, such as adjusting positioning, providing comfort measures, and ensuring personal items are within reach.
• Support effective communication by helping the individual express needs and preferences clearly.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive environment in alignment with the care plan and facility policies.

Experience

• Previous experience in personal care or a related field is preferred but not mandatory.
