Job Description
As a Senior Credit Analyst specializing in SME Lending with a focus on Loan Against Property (LAP) and Working Capital financing, your role will involve evaluating and underwriting credit proposals in the SME segment. Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting detailed credit analysis of SME borrowers, including financial statement analysis, cash flow assessment, and banking behavior
- Evaluating proposals for LAP, working capital facilities, term loans, etc.
- Assessing borrower repayment capacity using ratio analysis, sensitivity analysis, and projections
- Performing property valuation analysis and collateral risk assessment for LAP cases
In addition to credit appraisal and underwriting, you will also be responsible for:
- Identifying key risks and recommending mitigants
- Conducting industry and sectoral analysis to support credit decisions
- Evaluating credit bureau reports, legal and technical reports, and background checks
Furthermore, you will:
- Prepare detailed credit appraisal notes with clear risk-reward assessment
- Monitor portfolio performance, early warning signals, and stress indicators
- Work closely with various teams for smooth deal execution
- Contribute to enhancing credit policies, underwriting standards, and risk models
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- CA / MBA (Finance) / CFA or equivalent preferred
- 812 years of relevant experience in credit appraisal for SME lending
- Prior experience in NBFCs / Banks / Financial Institutions
- Hands-on exposure to LAP and working capital underwriting is mandatory
Key Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of SME lending, LAP, and working capital products
- Expertise in financial analysis, ratio analysis, and cash flow assessment
- Knowledge of credit risk frameworks, RBI regulations for NBFCs
- Ability to assess collateral and property valuation reports
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and presentation skills
- Proficiency in MS Excel and financial modelling
