Job Description

As a Senior Inpatient DRG Medical Coder, you will be responsible for utilizing your extensive knowledge of ICD-10-CM and PCS Coding to accurately assign diagnoses and procedures codes. Your communication skills will play a vital role in following up with providers/physicians for any missing documentation or unclear data. Additionally, you will collaborate with clinical personnel and seek relevant information for complicated or unusual coding scenarios. Your ability to read and comprehend medical reports will be crucial in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assign ICD-10-CM & PCS diagnoses and procedures codes accurately and completely.
  • Follow up with providers/physicians for missing documentation or unclear data.
  • Communicate effectively with clinical personnel regarding documentation.
  • Research and gather information for complex or unusual coding situations.
  • Read and comprehend medical reports efficiently.

Qualifications Required:

  • Education: Science Graduate or Postgraduate.
  • Credentials: Must possess current AHIMA/ AAPC certificate(s).
  • Communication: Outstanding verbal and written proficiency in English.
